Technical Evaluation Meeting For Deliverables of the Uganda Millennium Science Initiative (MSI) Window C Projects

The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) and Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) have been supporting private sector cooperation through the Uganda Millennium Science Initiative (MSI) Project Window C component.   The goal of this support was to give firms greater access to technology and skills and to link academia and research organizations with industry in a bid to provide practical skills to scientists and engineers, on the one hand, and to meet the technological needs of industry in Uganda.   These linkages are expected, to promote growth and accelerate the transition to a more science-and-technology driven economy with a critical mass of well-trained scientists and engineers focused on the needs of industry.

The Projects supported under Window C are nearly complete, with promising deliverables that would go a long way in enhancing the productivity and profitability of the firms and organizations involved.

UNCST in collaboration with UIRI have in this regard organized a one-day stakeholders’ dissemination workshop scheduled for 9th December 2011 at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

The workshop is aimed at providing an opportunity for stakeholders to evaluate the technical feasibility and potential uptake of the results of the six (6) Window C projects that UNCST has been supporting through the MSI.
