The Bioscience Innovation Policy Consortium for Eastern Africa (BIPCEA), is a collaborative effort of Councils, Commissions and Ministries of Science and Technology in the Eastern Africa region; and Science and Technology organizations, namely: African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), International Service for Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications (ISAAA) and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). The objective of BIPCEA is to market technologies and business ideas of the various bioscience projects under the BioInnovate Programme.
This Consortium was launched on Thursday 29th October 2011 at the UNCST Offices in Ntinda, by Hon. Jachan Omach, Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development (General Duties). The event brought together partner institutions and organizations from the Eastern Africa Region, local science and technology entrepreneurs, policy makers, S&T advocate institutions and the media.
