The 2010 National Science Week
  
 As one of its strategies to promote Science & Technology, UNCST holds a National Science Week annually. On this note UNCST is pleased to inform you of the forthcoming 2010 National Science Week (NSW) which will be marked from 20th to 24th of September, 2010 in Gulu District.   The theme of the Week shall be, “Science, Technology and Innovation: Strategic Interventions for Prosperity for All”.  The NSW is intended to help the public understand the pivotal role of science and technology in the economic and social transformation of Uganda.  It is also a Week to reflect on scientific and technological achievements and assess overall progress towards strengthening Uganda’s science and technology capability.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS CONFERENCE
  
 Early 2007, Kabale University submitted a Proposal titled Enhancing Curricular Connectedness in Mathematics, Science and Technology: An In-Service,Gender-Sensitive Secondary Teachers' Program to the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) in a bid for funding. During the UNCST Science Week of September 2007, our Proposal was one of the twelve selected by the UNCST Technical Committee for funding.  Click here to read more
 
Accredited IRC by UNCST
  
 The Institutional Review Committees listed below have been accredited by Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST). This accreditation allows them to function as IRCs for the protection of the rights and welfare of research participants in Uganda. Accreditation of IRCs is in respect to Section 3 of the National Guidelines for Research Involving Humans as Research Participants published by UNCST in March 2007, which requires all IRCs operating in Uganda to be accredited by UNCST. The Accreditation is valid for three (3) years from (date); and is subject to the IRCs’ continuing compliance with all applicable national standards and guidelines for IRCs in Uganda, and to any additional stipulations or guidelines that may be provided by the UNCST. This list will be reviewed updated regularly as and when more IRCs in Uganda get accredited.
